In a bid to avoid another global pandemic, the US will spend more than $5.3 billion on urgent care in the next three years, the highest spending in the developed world.
The United States will spend $1.1 billion on nursing homes and nursing homes-type facilities in 2018, a third of the amount spent in 2019.
The total cost of urgent care is expected to exceed $2.5 billion in 2020, the lowest figure in more than a decade.
The US will also spend $900 million for a medical centre that will help patients survive in the event of a pandemic.
“The U.S. has the highest number of hospitals per capita and per capita dollars per capita, and the highest per capita numbers in the global arena,” Dr. Robert S. Miller, the chief medical officer at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, told CNN.
But with the health care system facing budget cuts, the federal government is trying to get out ahead.
“We are working on this very important issue because we can do more for our seniors and our sick people,” Miller said.
In 2018, the U.N. will allocate $1 billion to develop and implement an emergency response plan, which will provide for rapid deployment of personnel to the emergency room, according to a statement from the U,N.
Secretary-General, António Guterres.
Miller said that in the coming year, the government will spend an additional $700 million to expand the number of beds and to build new emergency department facilities.
“These are all steps to improve care,” he said.
But, there are some concerns that this could have a negative impact on the healthcare system.
“If we look at the Uptown area of the city, there is a lot of seniors and people with chronic illnesses,” he added.
“I am not a fan of building nursing homes, I don’t think they’re appropriate, but we need to be aware of the health impacts.”
But Miller said the hospital spending will help improve the health of patients.
“It’s going to be the largest increase in the emergency department in the United States in three decades,” he told CNN.
“This will be the best place for seniors and sick people to get care,” Miller added.
